The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will participate in Blue Star Museums in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America.
Blue Star Museums runs from Memorial Day, May 25, 2015, through Labor Day, September 7, 2015. The Modern will begin free admission on Friday, May 22, and offer it through Sunday, September 6 (the Museum is closed on Labor Day).
The free admission program is available to active-duty military and their families (the military ID holder and five immediate family members). Active-duty military personnel include Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and National Guard and Reserve members.
The Modern will also include retired military and veterans with identification.
This year, more than 2,000 museums in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa are taking part in the initiative.
