The Modern's trees are sparkling with brilliant lights to celebrate the holiday season. Enjoy this holiday tradition with evening viewing opportunities and free admission until 8 pm on Fridays.
CAFÉ MODERN
Happy Hour
Café Modern hosts a happy hour from 3–5 pm Tuesday through Sunday and from 3–8 pm on Friday. Enjoy $1 off beers and well drinks; red, white, and sparkling wine for $6; and bar snacks for $5.
Dinner with the Modern Lights
Fridays, seating from 5 to 8 pm
Executive Chef Jett Mora welcomes you with warm hospitality, creative cuisine, and a seasonal menu rooted in Texas ingredients. Create your own holiday memories on Friday nights at Café Modern. Seating is available from 5 to 8:30 pm. For reservations, call 817.840.2157 or online here.
First Friday at the Modern
December 6, January 3, and February 7
The first Friday of each month, the Modern and Café Modern team up to bring you live music from the First Friday House Band, and drink specials and tasty light bites in the museum's Grand Lobby from 5 to 8 pm. Invite friends to enjoy a unique opportunity to experience the Modern in the evening. A complimentary docent-led, 20-minute tour is available at 6:30 pm. Café Modern and Executive Chef Jett Mora serve a light dining menu in the lobby ($9–15). Specialty drinks along with beer and wine are available at the cash bar, with happy hour selections.

Join a docent-led tour of the galleries! Our docents are excited to show you their favorite highlights on view, discuss works you’re curious about, or point out details of the building you may never have noticed.
Slow Art Tour
December 20 and January 17

The aim of the Slow Art movement is to break with the often frenetic pace of modern life to simply enjoy works of art in a deliberate and unhurried fashion. Slow Art at the Modern invests in this pause with a 30-minute tour focusing on one work of art.
Spanish-language Tour December 27 and January 24 6 pm, free admission
We welcome visitors from around the world, locals who are more comfortable in their native language, and English speakers who want to brush up on their Spanish language skills.
First Friday Spotlight Tour
December 6, January 3, and February 7
6:30 pm, free admission
This short, 20-minute tour is narrowly focused on a single theme and is the perfect break from the First Friday action of the Grand Lobby.
