Modern Contemporaries Fall Kickoff
The Modern’s Under-Forty Friends and special guests are invited to experience the Museum in a new way and to learn how the institution is striving to serve as a cultural pulse point for our diverse community!
Bring your curiosity and enjoy behind-the-scenes access to the Modern! Ride the freight elevator on your way to hear directly from expert staff about how artwork is stored and handled in the galleries, watch live screen printing by Pan Ector Industries in the Education Studio, and visit the Boardroom, with chances to win prizes along the way!
Drawing from the Collection with Kayla Seedig
Learn with local artists as they lead informal basic drawing classes in the galleries. This free class is open to adults at all skill levels—just bring a sketchbook and pencils. Registration is not required, but participants should sign in at the information desk. 2-3:30 pm

First Fridays at the Modern with George McCullum Trio
The first Friday of each month, the Modern and Café Modern team up to bring you music and drink specials in the museum's Grand Lobby from 5 to 8 pm. Invite friends to enjoy unique cocktail selections, and the opportunity to dine at the Modern by night. Café Modern offers a full menu in the dining room and lighter fare in the Grand Lobby until 8 pm. A docent-led, 20-minute tour of the galleries is available at 6:30 pm.
