This drawing course explores traditional skills alongside conceptual ideas and Surrealist techniques. Sessions are thoughtfully curated with teaching artists to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience. The course will focus on three key areas: works on paper from the Modern’s vault, drawing from life, drawing from Surrealism and Us: Caribbean and African Diasporic Artists Since 1940

Throughout this nine-week course, participants will have access to three supportive teaching artists and a collaborative learning environment. A vault tour, group critiques, gallery discussions, and one-on-one feedback sessions will foster growth and encourage the development of a small portfolio of drawings. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, this adult studio course offers a unique opportunity to expand your skills, draw inspiration from the works on view, and contribute to the vibrant dialogue of contemporary art.
All materials are provided. Registration is required. Space is limited.
