The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is located at 3200 Darnell Street in Fort Worth’s Cultural District, approximately 2 miles west of Downtown Fort Worth and 3 miles north of Texas Christian University. Parking is available on premises. Street and commercial parking facilities are also available.

The Modern is closed Mondays and holidays, including New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.

Inclement Weather Policy:
During inclement weather, the Museum will close to the public if Fort Worth Independent School District is closed. www.fortworthisd.org

Admission

Beginning September 7, the second floor galleries will be closed for installation of Vernon Fisher: K-Mart Conceptualism. They will reopen on September 25. Admission will be half price September 7-24.

Admission includes entrance to permanent collection exhibitions, all special and traveling exhibitions, and scheduled tours and gallery programs.

Free: Modern members

The Museum is free on the first Sunday of every month and half price every Wednesday.
Access to the Grand Lobby, Café Modern, and The Modern Shop is always free.

Special Policies and Guidelines for Visiting

  • Please take advantage of our complimentary coatroom. Large backpacks, bags or purses (larger than 11 x 15 inches), umbrellas, and other bulky items must be checked. Diaper bags may be securely attached to a stroller.
  • Strollers are permitted if pushed by an adult.
  • No food or drinks are allowed in the galleries, including water, baby bottles and sippy cups.
  • The use of cell phones is prohibited in the galleries.
  • Please do not touch the works of art. We recommend keeping a distance of at least 12 to 24 inches from works of art. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Personal photography is allowed in the Museum, excluding special exhibitions and works on loan. Tripods, special equipment and flash photography are not allowed.
  • Sketching or writing with pencil is allowed in the galleries; please, no pens, paint or charcoal media. Sketchbooks should be no larger than 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
  • Firearms are not permitted.

Access and Services for Visitors with Disabilities

Parking spaces are reserved in the museum parking lot by the main entrance for disabled visitors.

Museum entrances are wheelchair accessible.

All public areas, including galleries, auditorium, restrooms, elevators, education studio, Café Modern, and The Modern Shop are accessible to people who use mobility aids and wheelchairs.

The Museum offers wheelchairs free-of-charge to visitors at Coat Check on a first-come, first served basis.

Assistive listening devices are available upon request for auditorium programs on a first-come, first served basis.

The Museum welcomes service animals.

 

The Modern Shop

The Modern Shop offers an array of educational books and toys, posters, t-shirts, jewelry, and decorative and organizational items for home, garden, or office. Modern members receive a 20% discount on Modern Shop purchases.

Café Modern

Café Modern was named one of America’s best restaurants by Gourmet magazine.
Café Modern, overlooking the Museum’s reflecting pond, offers fine dining at lunch with a seasonal menu.
