Oscar Night 2014-CANCELLED
  • March 2, 2014 - 6:00pm

Will it be 12 Years a Slave or American Hustle for Best Picture? The veteran Bruce Dern or the newly revitalized Matthew McConaughey for Best Actor? Can Jennifer Lawrence score back-to-back Oscar victories, or will newcomer Lupita Nyong’o steal her glory?

Find out on March 2, when the Metroplex's premiere online entertainment guide DFW.com and The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will join forces for our sixth annual “Oscar Watching Party.”

Walk the red carpet at the Modern, where DFW.com's crack team of entertainment junkies will be on hand to talk about the nominated movies and to tell you if your outfit is worthy of a nomination. Those who come dressed in costume inspired by one of the nominated films will be eligible for special prizes to be awarded by our celebrity judges. So if you have an astronaut space suit, a pair of high-wasted, Her-inspired pants, or just a beer belly and a really bad comb-over, now’s your chance to strut your stuff.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Beginning at 7 pm, the Oscar broadcast will be shown live via satellite in Café Modern and in the Modern's auditorium. Throughout the evening, we'll also have a viewing screen in the Modern Lobby with light snacks and drinks available for purchase, and fabulous prizes handed out during the commercial breaks!

PLEASE NOTE: No advanced ticketing this year. Auditorium seating will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.
