A long overdue post.

We have emerged from our winter hibernation to welcome our two new interns for the semester and to wish Brett the best of luck as he prepares for his BFA show. Our two new interns for the spring are Brittany and Mindy and both hail from UTA. So welcome to both and huge thanks to Brett for all of his hard work last semester.

Ralf Ziervogel, ENDENEU (Das eidgenössische Unterbewusstsein), 2006. Floor installation: wood; glass; acrylic; 3 drawings, ink on paper. Installation view (each 44 7/8 x 118 1/8 inches) Approximately 236 1/4 x 236 1/4 inches overall. Courtesy Galerie Barbara Thumm.

We also say goodbye to two exhibitions this month. Sugimoto comes down after this weekend, and FOCUS: Chinatsu Ban comes down the following week. Don't be too sad, though, as we open two shows in February organized by our curator, Andrea Karnes. FOCUS: Ralf Ziervogel opens February 4 and Pretty Baby opens February 25. We will surely be talking about both of these exhibitions quite a bit in the coming months.

Mark Rothko, Light Cloud, Dark Cloud, 1957. Oil on canvas. 66 x 61 3/4 inches. Collection of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

The fall is just as exciting, with an exhibition organized by our chief curator, Michael Auping. Declaring Spacefeatures works by Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, Barnett Newman, and Mark Rothko. I am really looking forward to seeing those artists together. To top the year off, we will celebrate our fifth anniversary in this building in December.

This is shaping up to be quite the exciting year. And that isn't all, either. Stay tuned for more announcements, pretty big announcements at that, throughout the year.
